My Visit to US

It was .7th oct,08 Mahasaptami.

Me & my husband, offered Pushpa Anjali in our Salt Lake Housing Complex. After offering puja we came to Baby's house for lunch. Buri & Rony also came and Puchi was already there for her vacation from Pune.

I had asked Baby to make patla macher jhol with all vegetables,& moosur dal. We all had lunch together. Before leaving India we had nice lunch with fresh macher jhol. I was not sure when will I gain have such a lunch.

Next we had to get ready to leave for the airport. We had hired kripa's Omni. So at last we left baby's house with our luggage. They all came to see us off at the airport. Our international flight was from Delhi. Hence We had to go to Domestic airlines from Kolkata. Our flight, Jet Airways, was in time at 3oclock in the evening. We reached Delhi at about 530 .,p,m.

We waited at the domestic terminal for 4hrs. Our international flight was at 12 midnight. In between we had little snacks. After having snacks we entered the international airport. We had to wait there before we boarded our flight. So we were sitting there for sometime. In between we had dinner. After sometime the announcement of our flight was shown in the board. Then we were ready to board our flight..Before entering in the flight, we had to do all formalities of security, checking of the luggage. We were allowed to carry 1 cabin baggage & 2 suit cases. We could bring 2 more suitcases along with us but since we did not know we were only carrying ONE each. Any how we were miss guided by ourselves!

Finally we boarded the flight. It was American Airlines. It was a jumboo flight. All air hostess were aged American lady. Our flight took off at 1:30p.m. We took little time to become comfortable in our sit,In between we were severed our choice able hot drinks n soft drinks along with some snacks,I took some soft drinks with little french fry. Khokon took some hard drinks with some non veg, snacks.

Really it was a wonderful experience to be inside the flight for such a long period i.e for 16 hrs. In between American air hostesses they were taking care for us,We were served with soft drinks, ice creams ,hard drinks n food too.mean while we slept also.not sound, but slept. Our flight was direct delhi to Chicago. So with gathering nice experiences we reached at the chicago airport. The airport was full of light n seems to be busiest airport. It was morning 4.30a.m

At the airport Moina was present to receive us. It was her surprise present to both of us.We were soooooo happy to c her there. We hug each other. In the mean while we did our custom checking clearance from the counter. There they have given the entry for U.S.at the passport for said months.

After completing all formalities we became fresh at the airport toilets. The toilets were so clean that I haven't seen before. Our next connecting flight was at about 11.30a.m for salt lake city. So we had to wait at the lounge. As Moina was there with us so everything was becoming easy to take care of us in a new country. She took us for morning breakfast at the lounge. I didn,t have any breakfast there. only Moina n khokon took tea with Chinese omelet. I was only observing the people there. All the passengers were so well mannered n disciplined that was really wonderful.

None of them were shouting nor chatting. All passengers were taking rest at the lounge with book in their hand. We killed our time seeing here n there. At last our departure time was showing at the display board. So we were ready to board our next flight for Saltlake city. The flight was for 4hrs.

We boarded our flight in time & reached lake city in the evening. It was looking just like a dream to see the airport. We all our luggage from luggage van, and procceded for Logan, UT

I was just thinking 'Sagar Mahasagar paar kore koto door chole ellumm ek rateeer modhe" > I could not believe I was in US. I still don't believe. Ami to kokhono bhabini je ami etoo door ashbo..
